So... you may have noticed that page never went up. I think it's only fair to call this a hiatus at this point. I need to find some motivation. Or maybe I just need a break. With work becoming busier, updating on time was turning into a losing battle. Also, I think I need to figure out how to draw faster.

I'm guessing, I don't know, a month?

In the mean time, I need some help with something if any of you are interested.

My language symbol for the Redlanders sux. I like the others much better. I'd like the symbol to be a single shape on a white background. So, those of you who read the Redlander paragraph in the "About" section or from your observations in the comic...

Any better ideas?

A mummified heart for the Redlanders' symbol!

I jest... maybe. ;)

Sorry to hear that you're feeling unmotivated. If it's any consolation, I am also currently at a creative stand-still. (But then, I never produce much to begin with, so I'm not sure that really counts...) ;) In my case, I'm struggling to come up with one big through-story plot that can be sustained for a decent length to place Leonid in, as opposed to her story being little episodes / vignettes so far. I had big plans to write it and enter it in a contest, but the contest has since come and went.

I will say, I am envious of your ability in both drawing and storytelling. Odd how, even for people like yourself who have those things so thoroughly in place, that it doesn't mean that inspiration will always automatically be free-flowing. (Doesn't bode well for those like myself who can't get those things in order in the first place.) ;) Just hang in there, and I shall look forward to when Shifting Land returns. :)

I considered that, actually! But then I thought a mummified heart would be really... unrecognizable.

And also, thanks. That means a lot :_)

A bloody hand? I'd considered a sword, for their warrior tendencies, but decided that a bloody hand would have the same meaning, while being a lot easier to draw.

That's "bloody" in the American sense of the word, not the British. :)

Hmm... I'm intrigued by this idea. I may doodle. Thanks!

This seems to be going around, this sense of needing a break and stuff. I hope you find your mojo soon. I have to say...taking a month off and not even thinking about my comic did me some good. Seriously. So, do it.
As for the Redlander symbol...I like the suggestion above. Bloody hand print! It's easily distinguishable from the others.

Oh man ;-; I know how it goes, work has been ridiculous in my neck of the woods and Life > Comics and all that. Take what time you need!

I do like the idea of the bloody hand or handprint, but something like a heart(anatomical, or not) with a sword through it would be kind of cool too and get the warrior gist across well.

Take care of yourself, Nina~
